How is the science at Brandeis…specifically biology. I am hoping to apply to veterinary school. Am I better off at Michigan?

Edward Witten, best physicist in the world, graduated Brandeis.

how competitive are the classes

It depends on how you define competative. If you define competative as: are all of the students constantly suspicious of one another and constantly trying to one up each other, then not at all. People form nice little study groups and stuff to get through the experience that is Brandeis science. If, by competative, you mean how hard is it to do better than the average and, therefore, win the curve game, then extremely. Most people get B's. If you want an A, you REALLY need to work at it.
