I’m in 8th grade and I’m planning to skip Honors Biology to learn it over the summer so I can take Honors Chemistry (Ap sciences not offered in 9th). I have had an average of 100.2% in my previous science classes (Physical Science and Life Science) and they are very tedious. I am taking Honors Algebra 2 next year and a competitive mathematics course on precalculus too. I’m also planning to take Honors French II and AP Comp Sci Principles because I completed the last two years of Comp Sci with perfect grades. I have a GPA of 4.3 right now. Thanks.
there is no question here so i assume you want to know if its a good idea.
if you are required to take biology in high school to graduate then you should take it freshman year, then just take AP Chem sophomore year, because it is not very difficult. then you could also take algebra 2 over the summer and start in precalc in freshman year.
I wouldn’t recommend rushing through courses in the summer. Enjoy your summer.
How would learn honors biology over the summer? Does your school offer it in summer school?
I was actually offered AP Biology for 9th grade by my school. They will give me a preliminary test before the summer, I will probably have private tutoring or take a course at UCLA for high schoolers.
Does your school offer an option to take a test to skip a class? If you know the material for biology already, take that option. Don’t take t over the summer. Enjoy your freedom while it lasts.
