Science Grades for engineering major...

Hey, just wanted to find out how much of an impact getting B’s in biology, chemistry I and II, and physics will have on me getting into a good engineering school. Note: all the science classes were taught at the highest level and I took two science classes each year of high school. I have A’s in all other core classes, (math, history, english etc).

My overall gpa is good, but my science grades are not as good. My school is notorious for difficult science courses and VERY few people get A’s in them.

I also wanted to let you know I got an 800 in Math II, Chemistry, and Biology. I know the content, it is just stupid stuff that result in me getting a B in these science courses.

I would like you to analyze me from a purely grades perspective and tell me if these grades put me out of the running for top engineering schools. (Not MIT of Stanford, but like CMU, Michigan, Cornell)

All other factors like ECs and awards are very strong.

Thanks for reading this

Note, I am also an Asian Male :frowning:

This is definitely where your counselor recommendation would come in. Strong recommendations from those teachers would help as well. If it is indeed true that “VERY few people” get A’s for science, your recommender(s) should have no problem attesting to this. Your SAT II’s will complete the picture, as long as they make this claim first.
