Between SCM and OM, Which degree is better overall for job prospects and salary? and which degree is more technical (involves more math, spreadsheets, etc.). I’m interested in either SCM or OM but not a huge math fan just wanted to know which was more technical. I’m leaning towards SCM as it doesnt seem to be as technical as OM, but still technical when compared to other business majors.
What schools are you considering? SCM and OM majors tend to cover most of the same topics although if you wanted to get into semantics OM is technically part of SCM. It really depends on what schools you are talking about.
I got a really good offer from UNT in Texas, they have a really awesome logistics program that has a really good job placement rate. They were offering a BS in logistics and supply chain or a bba in operations management. The first two years in the course guideline are very similiar, its the third and fourth year where courses differ.
