Score Choice/Reporting

I need to send my standardized test scores to Cornell but I have a question regarding Score Choice...

I know that Cornell's website states that they do not participate in College Board's Score Choice if you are planning on sending the Reasoning Test and the Subject Tests. However, I would like to send my ACT score along with the Subject Tests for CALS. Can I then choose to send only my Subject Test scores from College Board (not my Reasoning Tests scores)?

Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

that’s exactly what I did. It should be ok.

no. when you sent the SAT IIs, your SAT I score is attached with it. unfortunately, collegeboard puts both tests on the same report. if your ACT score is higher though, they will use that score over SAT I.

send both

Do I have to send all of my SATIIs or can I hide one?

As long as you meet the requirements for the SAT IIs for your specific college, you can only send those in.

unfortunately, you cant hide anything (SAT wise)

same thing with AP scores

to sum it all up: collegeboard sucks :(

CUAmbassador11 - You sure you can’t with score choice?

i dont think so…

I called Admission Office, and got an answer that I have to send all SAT I and SAT subject tests.

Oh, why must the college application process be so complicated?

I thought that the point of Score Choice was to be able to send only your best scores or specific scores. I understand that some colleges want to see how many times you’ve taken the tests etc., but I think this situation is a bit different because of the ACT factor.

Kangaroo – Are you submitting the Reasoning Test and the Subject Tests instead of the ACT and the Subject Tests? Because in that case, I would understand their desire for all scores to be sent. However, if chooses the ACT option, as I have, I don’t see the problem with using Score Choice to only submit the Subject Tests from College Board.

Hmmm…

When I called the admissions office back in October, they said they aren’t so picky about SAT IIs - as long as you meet the subject test requirements, you should be fine. I then e-mailed my college, and they told me I’m allowed to choose which SAT IIs provided that I meet the requirement. (i.e. a math & science for COE)

Subject tests are kinda different from SAT Is - meet your requirements and I think you’re fine.

My friend took 3 tests (math, physics, lit) and applied for Engineering. He phoned COE and the rep told him that as long as he meets the math&physics requirement, he should be fine. He took math 2X, physics 2X, and lit 2X. He sent in all of his math & physics (so that’s 4 scores), but didn’t report the lit. He got accepted.

I strongly suggest you phone each individual college instead of phoning general admissions. The colleges will most likely tell you that as long as you meet the requirements, there shouldn’t be a problem.

This discussion didn’t really answer OP’s question.

I too wonder: if I am submitting the ACT and the SAT II, then I can use the score choice to suppress the SAT I, since the testing requirement states that either the ACT OR the SAT is required.
Right?

Haha, that was exactly my question! I think I’m going to go ahead and do it. Most people seem to think that it’s okay and I don’t see a problem with it.
