Hello, I was curious about a few facets of the ACT. First, when I take the test (for the first time, yikes!!) I want to report my scores to UF, but how exactly does that work after the test is taken? And also, I signed up to take the essay portion as well, and I would consider myself a pretty strong essay writer, but how does the essay affect the composite score? All of the schools I plan on applying to do not require he essay portion, so I’m unsure whether or or I should be taking it. Thanks for your time!
The essay does not affect the composite at all, though most colleges do look at it just to make sure you didn’t bomb it probably. I would recommend you take ACT with writing because you never know what schools you will apply to and the one you just find out about might require writing.
