Do admissions officers take into account ap scores for math/science classes or is that just for credit?
Also, is it better in terms of admission to get a near perfect score on the two SAT math subject tests or to get a 5 on the ap calc exam?

I think AP scores are self-reported on the college application, and they do look at that if you put it in. I’m not 100% sure though.
As for SAT Math or AP Calc, I recommend doing both. Also, if you’re going to take an SAT Math, I recommend taking 1 of them rather than both. If you’re super strong in math I recommend SAT Math II (I believe 60th percentile is 800 or something like that on Math II), otherwise do Math I. It’s definitely unnecessary to do both. Despite both SAT Math and AP Calc being math topics, SAT Math is primarily high school math (precalc, trig, algebra, geometry, probability, etc) while AP Calc is early college-level math. One can’t really effectively replace the other.
