Hi,

I need help scoring the AP Calculus AB practice test (PR and Barrons).

They both don't have scoring guides (they just give us the test).

So how do you score the test? Is each MC worth one? and Each FRQ worth 10?

Thank you

Also, a 75-108 is a 5 right?

Each MC is worth one point, although if you answered them and got them wrong they actually subtract a fourth of a point from your current score (rather than leaving it as it is).

Every FRQ is worth nine points, with three FRQs per section (totaling to 27 points per section or 54 points). Each subdivision of the FRQ questions (a-c/d) weights to a different amount of points though, so you may need some guidance based on the specific question you are looking at.

Also, after you get your MC score, multiply it by 1.2 to get a score out of 54. Add that to your FRQs score, and you’ll get a score out of 108. 70 is approximately a 5.

The last released exam (2008) had a 65 as a “5” with older exams within plus or minus a couple points from that average.
