I was thinking about the test and I remembered that my proctor said that if you don't fill in an answer you don't lose points it just doesn't count? How does that work out? Couldn't you just leave the whole thing blank?

No.

For each correct answer you get 1 point. For every blank answer you earn NO points. For every incorrect answer, not only do you earn NO points, you also lose a fourth as well.

So theoretically speaking, if the SAT was 100 questions and you got them all right, you would have 100 points. If you didn't answer any questions, you would get 0. If you answered them all wrong, you would get -25.

Ok, so when I go for my retake I shouldn't answer questions that I don't know?

you should make educated guesses. fiddle with the odds- they might be on your side; they might turn on you. :)

Yes, definitely guess if you can narrow it down to 3..in the end it turns out better than having left the ones blank.
