Scoring the PSAT

Can someone tell me how to score a practice test?

I understand that it is correct- .25 incorrect and blanks count for zero, correct?

But let's say you get 4 wrong on CR. Does that mean that you got -1 and that according to an old curve, you would have gotten a 770? Cuz that seems way to easy. Because then, -5 or 20 questions wrong would be a 700? That can't be right. This is all according to a curve on this site btw.

So how do you score these? And what about grid ins?

Just calculate your score this way:

Wrong answer to a multiple-choice question: subtract 1.25 points

Wrong answer to a grid-in question: subtract 1 point

Leaving a question blank: subtract 1 point

–

Your problem is that you did not factor in the fact that if you get a question wrong, you not only lose 0.25 points, you also lose 1 point from your maximum possible section score.

I hope this makes things clear :)! Don’t sweat it - I calculated my SAT scores wrong all summer by only subtracting 0.25 points :o!

okay yeah, that makes a lot more sense
