How late can I notify the UC's regarding a change in my schedule? I dropped 2/4 of my classes, but am planning on taking two 2nd 8 week courses at nearby community colleges to make up for it. I am already enrolled in one, but am hoping to petition for an add code for the other.

I saw someone's post about him/her notifying the UC's after getting an admission decision, but before he/she had to send in official transcripts. I'm not sure if this frowned upon or not...

I think you can notify them, at least you should notify them, up until the end of Spring. I just went through this sort of. I had received acceptance from UC riverside, and dropped a class. I notified every college I applied to including Riverside. All said it would not hurt my chances, but then again this was early March and a non essential course. Just call them up immediately, and explain your situation. You don’t want to wait any longer questioning if you are still able to notify them when it is this late in the game I think. Good luck.

@TheUnderdog1,

I did this, but I just changed it on the UC app and the Berkeley update. When I called the schools, they said that’s all I should do. Did you actually talk to them on the phone or by mail or something to notify them?

@music1990 I spoke to each of them by phone and they told me to simply update my application. I was nervous that I should do more so I emailed each one, and they replied saying my application would be reviewed with the changes. So you should be fine. No worries.

Ok cool, thanks. I’m feeling the same way, like I’m worried just changing my app isn’t enough even though they said it is lol. I think I’ll do what you did and just email them also. Just in case something happens I’ll have something to prove I notified them. Thanks though.

P.S. to the O.P: You can change your transfer update through March, or that’s what the representatives from Berkeley told me. Every school I talked to said it’s fine as long as the changes don’t affect your completion of IGETC or prereqs.

Thanks for the replies. I will be updating my TAU and send a message to the UC’s before the end of March.
