Screwed because of SECOND A- in Spanish?

I’m applying to top schools with straight A’s the past three years but I got another A- in Spanish!! Will this affect my chances at all?

Are you a senior right now? Even if you aren’t, it won’t affect you unless it affects your class rank and your in the borderline of top 10%.

Is this a serious question? You’re worried about two A minuses in Spanish? No school will care in the slightest. What they will care about is if you come across as a grade obsessed paranoid. Dial it down. Find something more interesting and/or useful to worry about. I like to fixate on climate change and income inequality, but you can pick your own worst nightmare. Just don’t let it be two A minuses in Spanish.

You are doomed. And the dire impact of the A- will follow you and your progeny for generations to come.

Your flair for the dramatic hasn’t abated since you asked and were answered the SAME THING back in November

Puh-leez

But on a more serious note: if this is how you come across to your peers and teachers, you need to stop it now. It’s eye-rolling annoying and you’ll won’t do yourself any favors whatsoever.

Did you ever watch those Disney shows where there’s the annoying goody-two-shoes kid who cries when he/she gets a 97%?

That’s you.

If it affects his class rank it might matter. In my school there is a difference between an A- 3.63 and a A+ 4.33. I actually get pretty upset if I do get an A- since it lowers my GPA a good amount and class rank.

If that is what is upsetting you, you have bigger problems. An A- is not going to be the deciding factor on success of failure. Obsessing about minutia could be. Give it a rest. I have a kid like that. He got to college and finally learned that the difference between being Valedictorian and someone else in the top 10% is pretty meaningless other than for a few opportunities. If those doors are closed, others are open. Don’t be so fixated on only one goal. Learn to deal with the ebb and flow of life or as a wise one recently quipped…you are doomed.

@scidude35 I don’t think it’ll significantly hurt your chances. All you can do now is study and do better in other courses, so focus on that. If having 2 A minuses means your doomed, then I am very screwed lol.
