Screwed up my chances of getting into HKU Med School

I think I just screwed up my chances of getting into HKU Med. I'm from mainland China but I grew up getting an international education. I just got a phone call from HKU. I had no idea who the woman was and shouted rudely "喂喂喂“ for few seconds. Then, she asked me how I could possibly have a 4.04 GPA. I told her GPA was weighed at my school. Then she asked me if I could speak Cantonese because that was one of the foremost admission requirements. I said I couldn't, without thinking. Honestly, I don't know a word though I speak fluent English and Mandarin. I think HKU was interested in me, but I screwed up my chances! I mean, Cantonese speaking wasn't on the application form as a requirement. I didn't know! Oh no..I feel terrible. I should have just said that I could or I was learning or something, right? Do you think I still have the slightest chance of getting into HKU med? I mean, speaking cantonese wasn't explicitly stated on the application. Besides, they called me. That does mean they're interested right? I mean, besides, they only accept a few overseas applicants in exceptional circumstances. Anyone can answer me?
