This year was much harder for emotionally than it was academically. I went through a battle with clinical depression and ADD, so as a result I was intimidated from taking more advanced courses and had to drop some EC's. As a whole, I'm incredibly disappointed in myself, and I feel that I didn't do nearly as good as I could have done if I had just pushed myself harder and applied myself more. I realize though what's done is done, and although I'll never be able to redo this year and correct the dozens of stupid mistakes I've made in it, I'm still trying to improve myself this last semester and the first semester of my senior year before I go to college. I wanted to go to UCLA and I plan on applying, but realistically, I don't think that's a possibility as a freshman anymore, but I still want to see what you guys think my chances in the UC system are, because I still have a number of backup schools like UCSD, UC Davis, UCSB and UCSC that I wouldn't mind going to either.

Now that that's all outta the way, here's my first semester junior year.

Zoology (I wanted to take APES this year, but I was on the waiting list and didn't get in even though I did the summer hw :P ): A
Multimedia (Also didn't want, wanted an advanced moviemaking class that I had signed up for, but my school wouldn't let me transfer in: A
Pre-Calc: A-
APUSH: B-
Spanish 5-6: B-
AP English: B+
Journalism: A

GPA for semester: 3.52

Other stuff....

GPA 10-12 (Unweighted): 3.65 (Rough estimate w/ weighting would be around 3.7 or 3.8, but I'm not sure how the weighting system works, can anyone give me some info?)

Ethnicity: Hispanic Male

Community Service Hours: 210

EC's:
-First year in journalism, but will be a page editor next year
-Will have participated on the Cross Country, Wrestling and Track teams for three years by senior year (Parents made me cut team sports this year to focus on grades)
-Varsity letters for wrestling each year
-Peer Tutor, will have logged 30 hours and gotten an award for it by senior year.
-Have been a buddy coach and volunteer at various special ed organizations including Angels on Stage (Special Ed drama, music, dancing) and Special Olympics and I will be a student director for both senior year and set up a club and be president for both senior year as well.
-Bassist and Pianist, have been in several amateur student-made bands for fun and will be in the school Jazz band senior year as a bassist.

Right now, all the grades listed as B's last semester are B+'s now, so I know that I have serious potential for straight A's if I work my @$$ off these next few weeks (but if I screw up it just makes it that more painful). I also plan on working a lot over the summer and senior year, hoping to make up for it. Over the summer I'm taking summer classes at local community colleges to get credit and getting re-involved in my sports and other EC's.

I'm hoping to make up for not pushing myself hard enough this year by doing pretty much everything senior year.

Senior year I will be taking....

AP Econ/Gov
AP Enviornmental Science (what I wanted to take this year but didn't get to)
AP Statistics
AP English Literature
Spanish 7-8
Media Arts 3-4

*I will also be going back to sports, staying with journalism and joining the jazz band, each of which counts for it's own separate elective grade and I will continue with peer tutoring, my community service and founding a club as it's president.

I will be taking my SAT on May 5th and my two AP tests for this year the following weeks and I will post scores for those as I get them back.

So except for my sophomore and freshman years, that's me in a nutshell. Can't say I'm satisfied knowing that I could've done so much more, but it's the truth. I probably won't get into UCLA, but I still want to try to get into the UC system, so any feedback, honesty and advice for the summer and senior year will be appriciated.

And thanks to those who took the time to read this overwhelmingly long post :)
