<p>Do we, as UCSD undergrads, have the opportunity to do research at the Scripps Institute? The place seems pretty cool.</p>
<p>yes you can do it. There is also Salks institute and also companies like Pfizer. I had an interview at Scripps frosh yr and the Dr. said that i was pretty leet and that i looked very good, but alas i didnt make it. They found someone with better qualifications, which im assuming is prior lab experience (i didnt have any).</p>
<p>so yeah to get into Scripps, Salks, Pfizer, i think it helps a lot if you have prior experience though cus my friends who are currently there have had research experience from HS. if not, just start at a lab on campus under a prof or maybe at the med school.</p>

Does lab experience also include volunteering/working in the pathology labs at a prestigious university?</p>
<p>Sweet, I think I might try for a Scripps position. I have some lab experience from last summer, and that place looks amazing.</p>
<p>Whatever it is, I just want to get my foot into the research scene here at UCSD!</p>
