SDSU chances...

Well, it’s getting to be that time of year again when everyone hears back with admissions results, and i’m a bit worried!

My backdrop: Southern California native, screwed around for my first year of CC out of college and have been working really hard to rebuild my GPA, after retaking some classes and getting my head on straight I was able to make the minimum GPA of SDSU’s Criminal Justice program at a flat 2.8. I moved to San Diego county in early august and the spring semester will be a full year of schooling in the local CC district finishing up at Miramar CC with an AS-T in Admin of Justice. With my 2.8 cumulative up until the end term grades of fall 2014 and an AS-T, what are my chances of admission?

New to the sight and couldn’t hold in my anxiety anymore! Please be honest, I can handle rejection and the truth. I dug myself a deep hole and i’ve been working my butt off to dig out of it, and not getting in would only motivate me more, but i’m just curious to see if anyone can offer me any comments. SDSU
CSU Fullerton
Long Beach State

Thanks, enjoying the sight already!

According to the link provided:
http://university-stats.sdsu.edu/reports/Apps_UG/all_app_admt_enrl_major_ug_144.pdf

SDSU had 856 transfer applicants for the Criminal Justice major and only accepted 108, which is around a 12% acceptance. This does not bode well for your chances. Good Luck.

CSUF and CSULB will also be equally tough.

I don’t think a 2.8 is going to get you into any of those campuses - perhaps San Marcos or Channel Islands

Good luck

Figured as much, I’m prepared for rejection but hoping for the best, at worst I wait another year and retake some courses. I appreciate your honesty and responses.

Not so sure about SDCU. CU’s typically have higher GPAS, but you will be fine with the rest. Chance me?

Hoping for the best as I have a life based in San Diego, it would be a downer if I had to leave and move but either way beggers cannot be choosers. I’ll be happy with whatever I get, even if its not my top choice.

Thanks, cross your fingers for me I guess!

San Diego State University SDSU (not SDCU @Isaacs22) and Long Beach are the most popular CSU’s in the state. Both are impacted and receive thousands of applications every year. Fullerton is getting very busy. Your 2.8 will not help your cause. Apply to San Marcos if you are in San Diego

Uh yeah that was a typo obviously.

I did also apply to ASU. How does that look for me?
