@Konadog I wonder how many nursing applications SDSU received this year? Last year it was something close to 5000. A current nursing student said an admissions counselor reviews all nursing applications and all applicants find out the same day. Last year it was the last week of Feb. They’re running behind schedule and I’m getting a little anxious for my D who also applied for Nursing the week after you.
good luck guys
does anyone know anything about undecided major??
@Banker1 Thanks for the info. I’m also curious how many nursing applications SDSU rec’d this year. I’m getting really anxious!
@Banker1 I am beginning to get anxious as well! I would assume they received a lot of applications, nursing seems like it is becoming a more popular major (especially at my school). I was expecting decisions to come out at the end of February like previous years, so these extra days are dragging on! SDSU is currently my first choice, so fingers crossed… It would also be nice to know before the March 17th open house. I only live a couple of hours away but I’d have to arrange things with my track coach and make sure my mom is not working that day, so the sooner these decisions come out the better…
Does anybody have any clue when decisions come out?
@Konadog Has your “admission status date” changed at all? I also applied to the nursing program and am starting to get nervous
I just took a peek at the CSUF forum even though D did not apply there (the only other direct entry CSU Nursing program). They started a new process this year to enroll for nursing by waitlisting all top applicants. The ratios being discussed are incredible. 5000 applications, 200 waitlisted, with what might be a target enrollment of 20-30 students. The waitlisted folks started reporting this dilemma at the end of Feb. I hope SDSU is not following that process!

@22nurse No, admission date hasn’t changed. Has yours? Not feeling very encouraged , especially with what @Banker1 found out about CSUF’s nursing program!
@Kondog @22nurse: The SDSU Nursing program accepts and enrolls many more applicants than the CSUF program. CSUF usually enrolls around 35 students while SDSU targets a class of 120 so a little less than 4 times as many.
Here is the stats from last year’s class 2017: https://nursing.sdsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Freshman-Admission-Statistics.pdf
Applied: 4,832
Accepted: 356
@Konadog Nope. I am somewhat hopeful because no one I have talked to said that theirs has changed.
Does anyone know if SDSU decisions usually all come out all at once for acceptances and waitlist and denials (besides the people who get admitted early)? Or do they send acceptances first and then not send denials until later
has anyone heard back from sdsu that applied as an undeclared major?
@Caligirl24: Based on past history, acceptances first, then waitlist and rejections. Since SDSU is about 2-3 weeks behind in decisions from the previous years, they might come out all at once.
@Gumbymom thanks
I am being told by multiple people that the decisions are being released this friday (3/09). Im not sure if it’s all at once or a batch at a time. Hang on tight.
@sendhelp4me how do you know and who told you?
@kbutter1234 I’m not 100% sure if it is released on friday, but about 7 people told me in the past 2 weeks. If it ends up not being friday, we just have to wait and hope for the best.
I do know my nephew was accepted today for their masters’ program so maybe they are focusing on those right now? Who really knows but I sure wish you are right that Friday is the day. Given only 1 of 7 schools have released for us so far makes it very stressful!
@Bean981 Totally agree. This has been a very stressful process and it’s only been 6 days into March. I hope you and your nephew are able to relax a little. Good luck!
