SDSU Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

What applicants need to understand is that local priority weighs heavily into any CSU’s admission decisions and the # of applicants by major is a huge consideration. When you have 7294 2020 applicants for Biology vs. 22 applicants for Classics, the applicant pool is going to be very different competitively.

If SDSU would list the admitted GPA by major (exception Nursing), then most applicants could gauge their chances more easily.

With so many applicants it is impossible to determine why one applicant got in over another, even if on paper they appear to have the same Stats.

Remember SDSU is an impacted campus which means all majors have more qualified applicants than spots available so it is up to admissions to determine how these spots are best filled.

Best of luck to all and you will end up where you meant to be as Undergrad college students.

My D applied to SDSU nursing and CSUSM nursing. She’s local to CSUSM. Does SDSU consider this and put her into pre-nursing assuming her odds getting into CSUSM?

So I have still not heard from cal poly slo, which I assume means I am rejected since acceptances and waitlists have gone out. I applied for psychology, with a 4.31 CSU gpa and 4.0 uw (I got my gpa wrong earlier and said it was a 4.3, but checked it on my application). Does this say anything about my chances of getting into SDSU nursing? I also am kinda concerned because I took engineering 5 my sophomore year as dual enrollment and fear that gives the wrong impression of my goals to the admissions team. Should I be concerned about showing a lack of interest in nursing? I stated that I was currently in DE psychology and had DE medical terminology planned.

She will be evaluated as a non-local and all SDSU Nursing students are accepted as Pre-Nursing until they complete the required courses to officially declare the major.

Initially on my portal it said decisions will be available by mid march and now it just says march. Maybe they finished earlier so we might hear soon! Here’s to hoping

UC tuition also has gone up in the last few years. I was paying just over $13K/year for my son at UCD while now it is around $14,400K/year. The basic tuiton has not increased by much but they add on campus fees and student service fees which add to the costs.

Also the basic tuition for the Cal states has not gone up as much, it is the additional mandatory fees that have increased over the last few years. See the linked article from 2020:

https://www.sfchronicle.com/education/article/Rising-fees-at-CSU-campuses-questioned-by-state-15271005.php

Or they are gonna take longer so they had to extend their timeline cause they won’t have them out by mid March :sob: hopefully this option is wrong though and we hear soon! I cannot take this dreadful waiting much longer.

Aside from tuition/fees (which went up about 8 percent year over year for SDSU), I was also referring to the room/board costs, which also went up around 8 percent year over year. Considered together, that’s a pretty big increase, imo. And it’s not as if SDSU has luxury student housing.

My daughter has a 4.35 GPA with about 9 AP classes. She has not heard from SDSU nor Cal Poly yet. She applied to the psych department. Do you know if they have released all their admittances yet or does she still have a chance.

sdsu hasn’t even released the bulk of their decisions yet but she does have a good shot

I applied to cal poly with a 4.31 for psych and haven’t heard back yet either. Unfortunately, it seems like if you haven’t heard back from cal poly yet… things don’t look so good. But who knows, admissions are weird this year. As for SDSU, I do not think that any acceptances have come out (besides the early admits), so we can remain hopeful! (I applied for nursing at sdsu)

Hello! As far as I know, early acceptances were sent out in December. Other than that, the rest have been waiting and decisions have not been sent out yet so I think your daughter still has a chance.I personally have a feeling that the decisions will be out today but if not then sometime within the next two weeks. Good luck to her!

Explore SDSU is on March 20 so I suspect decisions will be out by then! Explore SDSU Admitted Student Day | SDSU

My hopes for today are dwindling as 10 am has come and gone. Last year it was 10 am on Monday 3/2 that people started hearing. Last year they also released the Monday after transfers so that indicated today as well since transfers were posting they heard last week. The change in the portal indicating decision are to be released In “March” rather than “mid March” makes me feel like there is a delay. They really should be more transparent.

the “march” decision has been the same for me ever since I first logged in to my portal in December

When I was accepted in December, it was on a Friday at 3:30p.m.

It still says mid-march here: Application and Admission Status | SDSU.
