@amsunshine Congrats to your daughter! Can you share her stats?
Major: CS

Lots of Community Service; Research position last year; internship last summer

CSU GPA is capped at 4.4 for SDSU and the other CSU’s.
This is 100% speculation, but I saw someone broke down the stats from the last few years and SDSU acceptance always come out on Mondays? So I’m thinking maybe Monday…
I really hope you’re right !
I’m thinking decisions will be out on Monday too. On the SDSU student portal it says that there will be maintenance on Sunday, 3/7/21, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Hmmmmmm…
I got my decision in december on a weekday? it might have been monday or friday i forgot
That’s so interesting! They just did maintenance on Cal Poly’s portal last night and a huge release of waitlists happened today… maybe you’re on to something! We shall see!
I checked last years thread. Transfers came out on 2/25 and freshmen on 3/2 so 5 days later. I’m seeing that this year transfers started hearing 3 days ago so 5 days would be Saturday. Monday after Sunday maintenance is looking very promising. Good luck to all.
Does anyone know when they notify about the Honors College? They mentioned Early March but no date
my portal doesn’t say anything about maintenance… does everyone else seem to have a thing that says maintenance will be done?
never mind, it was just not on the site where I had been accessing it, I see it when I access it through a different site.
Cal Poly always does maintenance on Wednesday nights.
That’s what I am wondering too. I got curious and clicked on the link they gave in the email that says URL to View Results and it just comes up as an error, but hopefully they come out soon
Isn’t early march for those who applied by feb 15? Shouldn’t the rest come out next month tho? I applied by feb 15 and I still have nothing yet tho
Yeah, I applied Feb. 8th
I got waitlisted for cal poly slo yesterday for sociology. I considered that a reach school for me so I was honestly pleasantly surprised. Do you think I’ll have a better chance at SDSU with a major in social work with a CSU gpa of 4.28? Or are their algorithms of acceptances different?
SDSU uses slightly different criteria for admissions but you will be compared to all the Social work applicants since they also admit by major. No way to tell how you will fare based on SLO’s decision but you look competitive based on your GPA.
For 2020, SDSU has 395 applicants for Social work and admitted 119 for a 30% acceptance rate.
Best of luck.
4.28? That’s pretty high. I got accepted early with a lower gpa but my major isn’t common (linguistics). Does sdsu admit by major? Your gpa is pretty high though for sdsu to be honest unless you’re going into a field such as nursing or engineering.
I think it’s completely random, I could be wrong. I know SDSU typically accepts those who are out of state and high stat applicants first. My unweighted overall gpa is around 3.78 and my weighted is a 4.21 which I believe is the average admit for SDSU, so I’m not really considered high stat. As for my CSU gpa, I’m pretty sure they base it off of 10-11 grades which makes it a little bit higher
