Hello everyone. I apologize in advance if this is not the correct area to post this but I was wondering if anyone can put my mind at ease with a concern I am having about pre-requisites and major declaration. I applied to transfer following the ADT program outline, however I noticed that SDSU’s catalog mentions that to be admitted into the program one must complete a Poli Sci class which I have not yet taken. Can my application be rejected because of this? I have spoken to a counselor at Southwestern College who said this wouldn’t be an issue, however I’m not entirely convinced. I have tried to contact the counseling center at SDSU but I’ve been getting ping pong around.
It all depends on how impacted the major is. I am in a similar boat with my admissions for UCSB. Although I have completed my IGET-C and followed the ADT, I am missing a class that they require all business majors to complete. After speaking with a rep, I was informed that although I meet all the requirements for my ADT and IGET-C. my app will not be as competitive as everyone who has completed all the requirements.
Major: Marketing
GPA: 3.35
AA-T/AS-T: No
Pre-reqs: Done
Golden 4: 3 B’s, Taking communication studies in the Spring
Area: Santa Monica (SMC)
Other Schools: SFSU, Chico
I was reading other threads where people had perfect GPA’s and still got denied. I’m so nervous because I don’t want to go anywhere else. I’ve seen a lot of business applicants on these threads but I haven’t seen that much with a concentration in Marketing. What do my chances look like?
Hi, everyone, I was thinking that I would take some classes through their Open University program for Winter and Spring 2020 (so I can get a head start on classes and not sit around doing nothing). I know I can transfer 24 units if I am lucky enough to be accepted (and if not then maybe another CSU would accept the credits anyway?) Has anyone ever done this?
@ONSOOO as far as I know, and from seeing posts from previous years’ transfer threads, they look at: #1 Do you have all (or at least most) of your required classes completed, #2 Are you from a local community college, #2 GPA and then they fill up the spots in each major…I saw from last year people from out-of-local area with very high GPA’s being denied admission (of course they may have been missing some pre-requisite classes) so it really depends on how impacted your major is and how many spots they have to fill.
Major: Criminal Justice
GPA: 3.76
AA-T/AS-T: Will have my ADT by end of Spring.
Pre-reqs: Yes
Golden 4: 3 A’s, statistics in Spring
Area: Sacramento
Other Schools: CSU Chico, CSU Sonoma, CSULB, CSUF.
I have a lot of AP credit and the number I got doesn’t seem right. I took AP Psych, US Hist, Lang. & Comp., and Lit. & Comp., which apparently adds up to 21 credits (if I counted right based on their policies). Could someone verify this or do they have a similar number?
I feel like there aren’t many transfer threads for fall 2019 yet… like csulb, SJSU etc. Anyway just finished my supplemental application for SDSU and I’m missing one pre req that is listed as “no course articulated” on assist.org. Sigh it worries me but we’ll see how it goes. My GPA also went from a 3.0 before fall 2018 to now 3.2 after 15 units of all A’s.
