SDSU FALL 2019 Transfers

Last year people started hearing back as early as February 26, but March 1 is usually when it starts.

@IsntThatSpatial I forgot to mention that with how units transfer between CA to Hawaii I would be admitted as a sophomore which means I wouldnā€™t qualify for their full-ride scholarship given to junior level transfers :frowning: Hawaii is a dream though, I may do a summer program or something

Only been 3 days since the submission of supplemental apps and Iā€™m already anxious

@benhyrules Bummer. Definitely do a program at U of Hawaii for a semester / quarter if you can.

I must say the others schools youā€™ve applied to are excellent as well. My friends and family have graduated from all of those schools (including SDSU) and are doing well. So any school you get accepted will be excellent for your future.

Just popped into this group. My son is applying as a transfer. His GPA is low compared to everyoneā€™s (3.68 at the CC, but he took a UCSD class and got a C, so overall 3.54). However, heā€™s a cello performance major, so it will probably hinge on the audition. He didnā€™t complete any pattern of courses and will barely have 60 transferable units. Weā€™ll see what happens!

Just noticed the date in my portal changed to January 24th, 2019. Iā€™m still pending though. Iā€™m sure that was just when the school receieved my supplemental app or something.

Thought Iā€™d give it a go. Another important thing is that Iā€™m a Veteran and Iā€™ve heard that gets considered too.

Has anyone gotten their ADT preliminary and final verification verified?

@gdln012 The community college that awarded my degree told me over the phone they are verifying degrees starting Feb 14-March 15. But to answer your question no mines has not been verified yet.

@needtomoveout: Transfer decisions come after the Freshman decisions which have not posted yet so I would say late March through April for transfers.

Good luck everyone!!

I looked at last yearā€™s thread for transfers and manā€¦ they were rejecting ppl with perfect gpaā€™s & all pre-reqs complete so it really is like a free for all! So we never really know what can happen! I really wonder what they are looking for if they rejected such high qualifying candidates

Also, they started hearing back on Feb 26th so that is not too far away! Hopefully they start that day too this year

If anyone is interested, SDSU has a page called analytic studies and institutional research ( asir) that shows the numbers of applications for each major and number admitted for the past 12 years including Fall ā€˜18. My daughter actually applied as sociology at 10 schools but intentionally applied as a sustainability major at SDSU because she is not a local applicant and 960 sociology transfers applied last year and only 81 admitted. So less than 10% . Sustainability had 64 transfer applicants and 40 admitted ā€¦higher than 50% admit rate. Itā€™s kind of an interesting chart to look at and shows both freshman and transfer info.

I posted that info on the first page @sugarcane1 great insight nonetheless.

Hereā€™s the link in case anyone is curious:

@IsntThatSpatial thanks for adding the link! Very helpful?
Not sure why SDSU sociology had less than 10% admit rate for transfers and UCLA had 1387 soc transfer applicants and 35% admit rate.
