SDSU or Community College?

Hey, I’m from San Francisco. I applied to 6 UC’s and 4 CSU’s, and I got rejected from 4 UCs and wait-listed into UCSD and UCI. I got into SDSU and SFSU as well, but got rejected from the other 2 CSUs. I’m planning on majoring in accounting and want to pursue a career in accounting, so I think SDSU would be better than SFSU. If I do not get into UCSD nor UCI for the wait-list, should I go to SDSU or a community college, then transferring into a UC (preferably Berkeley)? I’ve heard many great things from SDSU’s undergraduate accounting program, but at the end of the day UC Berkeley annihilates SDSU reputation wise. Even if I get into UCSD or UCI through wait-list, should I go to SDSU anyway, or will either UC be a better choice? I know in the end of the day, I have to come up with this decision by myself, but I sure would like some input on this topic. Thanks!

If I were you, I’d submit my deposit for SDSU housing and get on with it. It is an outstanding school and a great environment. If you went to a CC, there’s no guarantee you’ll get a spot at one of those UCs - or even SDSU again. Then where will you be?

SDSU has a strong business program. It’s alumni network throughout the state is well regarded. Socially, and athletically, it is a great environment. It is your decision to make, so you need to visit the campuses.

There is no guarantee that you will be readmitted to SDSU or admitted to Berkeley after CC.
