sdsu questions

i got into sdsu and im going to major in business. i was worried that since it is a highly impacted program that it would be hard to get the classes i need.
so if i majored in business how hard is it to graduate in 4 years?

also i was wondering about the school being known as a commuter school. will this effect my " college experiece".

is it hard to get housing on campus? i heard only 3,000 students live on campus so that means like the other 20,000 dont??

considering there are 33,000 students going to the school, when you live on campus it doesn't feel like a commuter school. There is probably something like 3,000 freshmen that live on campus, otherwise that number does not seem correct. So far i've gotten all the classes i've needed. There are ways of getting priority registration. For a few of my classes, I had my older friends/friends with priority, sign up with a class, then drop it, right as I was adding it. Plus there is a community college (that offers much easier undergrad business courses) nearby and the units coincide perfectly.

so i just talked to my counseler and she basically told me not to go to sdsu if i want to graudate on time b/c its really hard to get classes especially for business major.(the older students have priority and since alot of ppl slack its usually the 5th and 6th yr ppl who get the classes) thats wat she told me.
im really confused now b/c ppl on this site have been telling me that classes are not that hard to get and i can get credits at community colleges too and tranfer them. so i dont kno who to believe. does anyone have any bad experinces at sdsu with signing up for highly impacted majors like business?

I've had very little trouble, freshmen and seniors get priority. There is mesa college and grossment, right by SDSU, that offer the same business courses that are easily transferable and easier.

so seniors (4th yr) get priority over 5th and 6th yr students?
thanks for the responses savedbythebell .how do u enjoy sdsu and majoring in business?

i'm doing business major next year too
but what if u dont have friends to do that drop/add thing for u?
i really dont want to waste time n tuition, and want to get a job after 4 years

many of my friends in college say that its hard to graduate in 4 years now because, the school recomends taking less classes now.
they want you to spend more money (5 years of tuition instead of 4) and they can admit more students if every one is taking less classes at once.

i am also majoring in business and sdsu is my top pick.

how do they 'recommend' u to take less classes?
if i really want to work hard n get all my classes, what will hinder me?

i didnt say this was specifically at sdsu, its just that a few of my friends are in college and its getting harder to get all the classes u want freshman year.
if you push for what you want, along with a lil luck you can still graduate in 4years anywhere.
