SDSU undergrad -> UC grad school

Hello, all!
This is my first post after looking around for a while. I think I have viewed almost every other thread on this subject, but if you know of one that exists and would be helpful please add the link.

I am considering attending SDSU as an anthropology major and then a UC for grad school as an urban planning major. However, I am concerned that I would be better off doing my undergrad at a UC since they are known for research, which is helpful for grad school. I am wondering if SDSU has a decent undergrad anthropology program that will allow me to attend a mid to high tier UC for grad school (if I keep my grades up in college).

Also, I have been told that SDSU is more of a party school, but do they have strong academics and activities for someone who is not interested in partying?

Thanks for reading!

SDSU’s “party school” reputation is from year’s past but the stigma still lingers. Plenty of non-partiers on campus.
SDSU is a very competitive Cal state academically and you will receive an excellent education. I know very little about the Anthropology department but I believe you will be able to find research opportunities at SDSU. Over the last few years, the have really amped up their emphasis on research. As long as you do well on the GRE and have some good letters of recommendation from your professors, graduate school at a UC is very possible.

You might want to contact the Anthropology directly and ask what research opportunities are available.
