Hello. My son is trying to decide between San Diego State University vs University of Colorado Boulder for business. He was admitted to both and having a tough time deciding. He would be going fall 2021. Can those who have attended provide any feedback on the schools? pros/cons. Social life, academics, football, sense of community, will classes be in person? Etc. thanks in advance.
go to the less expensive - or where’d he be more comfortable (beach vs. skiing).
Colorado will likely be pricier unless in state…both are typical large, party, public schools.
CU is PAC12 for sports, and they are big and fun. There are also a lot of opportunities for students to participate in running, hiking, biking etc. SDSU is Mountain west for football and other sports are in various conferences. Mountain West is a fun conference but not a Power 5.
CU business school is excellent. Housing in Boulder is expensive, but not impossible to find. Most students only live on campus as freshmen.
To determine best value we need to know your net cost* at each v. Budget.
*Net cost = (tuition fees room board) -(scholarships grants)
Social life= Boulder
Sense of community, about equal unless you got into a special program at one.
Academics= about equal, perhaps a nod to Boulder
