I got accepted to both for Aerospace Engineering and i don’t know which one to choose. I just want to know which one is academically better i have already considered money, location,… i got accepted into SDSU’s (Aerospace major) which also has a masters program. UCI on the other hand i got accepted into (Mechanical AND Aerospace Engineering major) which are combined majors. UCI does not offer a masters program. Please help i dont know which one to choose
UCI hands down. Obviously rankings should be taken with a grain of salt, but you’re dealing with 1 college that is ranked top 40 nationally and 1 that is #140 something. Big difference there. Plus I’ve heard good things about UCI engineering (#44), not so much about SDSU engineering (#105).

But the problem is while UCI is a great engineering school, their aerospace program is pretty new and is combined with mechanical engineering. Also if i don’t land an internship right after i get my BS i cant get my masters at UCI because they dont have a graduate program. SDSU although isn’t as respectable in the engineering category as UCI has a set aerospace program and offers a graduate program.
Honestly, I would say UCI. I live in Irvine, and UCI is rapidly improving every year. It might be new, but let me tell you, Irvine goes all out. UCs in general are more research based, which I think would be much better for your situation. Academically, UCI is pretty competitive. SDSU is known for being a party school, but it is still one of the best cal states. But Irvine is a pretty well off city willing to pay for new programs, so UCI would probably have the edge.
