How does sdsu compare to ucsb's social life? I've read that sdsu is more of a commuter school. I know the social life is great in both, but I'm curious to what other people think. I've read on ucsb and sdsu's social life at studentsreview.com and it seemed to me that more people were happy with ucsb

playboy ranked the following party schools
1. University of Wisconsin-Madison
2. University of California, Santa Barbara
3. Arizona State University
4. Indiana University Bloomington
5. San Diego State University
6. Florida State University
7. Ohio University
8. University of Georgia
9. University of Tennessee
10. McGill University, Canada

im assuming ucsb is better. i know that both schools have tons of hot girls. i know greek life is big at sdsu, not sure about ucsb. but sdsu is definately cheaper. sdsu is in a metropolitan and close to mexico but ucsb is right on the beach and probably better academics all around (harder to get in).

eitherway you wont be dissapointed.

the main difference is UCSB has a community feel. Every house and apartment in Isla Vista is rented by college students, the frats, the students and the school are all part of Isla Vista which is walking distance to campus.

SDSU has a little bit of that, you can walk to frats and house parties/apartments but you are part of a bigger city, and instead of walking by other college students you walk by busy intersections and jack n boxes and weird old guys perving. SDSU gets high ranks on the party scene because we are a short ride from Mexico, where 18 gets you in to all the clubs. We also have PB/OB/MB which have great bars and clubs right near the beach but you really need to be 21. The bars dontown are great too.

I would say, pre21 years UCSB is the way to go. Post 21- SDSU has way more variety
