Alright so from the title you can probably tell I’m choosing between SDSU and UW- Seattle for college this fall as an incoming freshman!
My major is Speech Pathology and I am definitely looking to go to grad school after undergrad. These are my thoughts about both schools…
UW: I know this school is considered as the “better” school. However I feel like this would just be a college version of the current high school I go too. There are so many Asians just like there are at my high school. Also, about 30% of each senior class from my high school ends up going to Newport… So I am very likely to see many familiar faces, and I’m not so sure how I feel about that. I am not saying UW is my second choice. It’s still a fantastic school! However UW is so close to home and I may be looking for a change.
SDSU: This school may not be known so well academically, but my program, Speech Pathology, seems great there. I have also been accepted to the Webers Honors College. I like the idea of being in the Honors Program here because I know I’ll get to be in a community of like-minded/motivated students! Also I know of only a small number of people from my school that will go to SDSU… which I actually see as a good thing!; I will be pushed to do things on my own and also pushed to go out and meet new people.
Overall I really like both schools and they offer what I want academically. I fee like I may be happier at SDSU, but I know UW is a great school and I would not be sad if I end up going there either.
Another thing to add is that tuition for both schools would be roughly the same… since SDSU will accept more of my AP credits than UW will.
Based on what I said above, are there any suggestions? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
