Hi,

I got accepted as a transfer student for fall 2014 student and now desperately looking for a place to live. I wanted to live close to campus since i am not familiar with the city but the reviews on the surrounding area of the campus confused me a lot. I'm an international student (transferring from Boston though) and don't/won't have a car. I looked at some places close to campus (such as west 27th place-how is it btw?). Even though they seem great, i value safety more than anything now. Is that part safe or should i look somewhere else?

Thanks

We just finished looking at the Lorenzo. I’m not “advocating” for it as a choice because I’m not enamored with the sales staff (too time-share-ish for my taste and too many clueless stares and phony smiles). But having lived in Boston I thought it might fit your taste. Has a shuttle to campus that runs every 15 minutes so you don’t need a car. And it’s right next to a metro stop for getting around the city. Also has zip car on site. You can’t get into the garage or even use the elevators without a key so it met my spouse’s comfort level for off campus safety. A lot of security in the lobby and outside as well. I felt a bit better about it than some of the local rental houses in the surrounding neighborhood in terms of security.
