Searching for an affordable University around the globe.

Hey guys,

I've completed my A'levels in june 2009.I'm a pakistani and i want to apply to foreign universities. Now, like most international students, my budget for universities is really low. I can afford around $5000/year (USD). I know it's quite low but PKR has recently depreciated a lot so that's my budget. And it's inclusive of all the other expenses, living expenses, clothing, meals, etc.

Just want you guys to know that i've done a lot of research myself and community colleges in the U.S are still expensive for me, considering only an Associates Degree of 2 years which isn't that significant. Canadian universities are preferred. I recently found out this University of Regina and i think it costs about $ 10000/year Canadian Dollars, including everything.

And yeah, any university that might reduce the expense through grants, loans and scholarships are also appreciated.

But, still i need options, please guys help me out.

Remember that this is in Canadian dollars, so transfer it over to American.

@teamfrangela92, thanks for replying. But, why transfer it to USD, i mean can’t i pay em in Canadian Dollars?

Yes, you can pay them in CDN, but converting it to American dollars means you can compare costs on an equal scale with American schools.

Also, it’d probably make sense to convert your money from PKR to USD and then CDN, to take advantage of the inflated exchange rate between USD and CDN.

BUMP^^^^ Guys the issue is not this. The issue is the names of the most affordable universities for international students.

Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland charges 16,378 CAD (~14,670 USD) for international students. It’s also quite a good school with some very solid programs.

I think $5K all in is impossible. You would need that to eat decently for a year in Canada. Your lowest price is going to be if you have the stats for a US college that meets 100% of need (don’t think any Canadin schools do this) and your family passes the needs test.

I just found out about this Berea College in Kentucky. It offers 100% tuition for the first year and really offers great financial assistance to international students. But they only accpet 30 out of every 700 international students. I think one would require a really good TOEFL score.
