U of T is my first choice, and i got in. It is my DREAM to go there, however, i'm still unsure of the finances. I've tried to get as much info on this as possible from all sources, however none of them is consistent about the overall cost of attending and living at the Uni. I'm hoping that anybody out there can help me with this. Do you know of any international student who got into U of T and how much it costed them the first year? I got into the Science program (which is basically the Arts/Science college), at New College. The costs of which I've heard, range from $17,000-28,000 Canadian dollars. Yes, that's a huge difference.

Anybody??? Please help!

i don't want to give up on U of T to go to an LAC.

any info you can give me about student loans, scholarships, etc. will also help me greatly.

you should definitely look at the u of t site - i remember they had a lot of information about financial aid, loans, scholarships etc.....a lot of the scholarships are for canadians, so you'll need to go for an academic excellence/need based one....

i'd suggest that you don't rely too much on the my fUTure page because the rates there are out by a few years. according to one of the information sheets i picked up when the canadian ivy came to my country lists the costs as following:(am i right to say that you are american?)

costs for international students:
arts and science program:us$9241-9513
residence: us$4847-8783 with meals, us$2965-3851without meals
books: us$770
health insurance: us$411

it should be accurate as it is based on the sept 2004 intake. however it does not include individual costs, so the actual amount naturally would be higher. maybe you could try the individual websites for the st. george campus colleges to find out the actual cost of dorm living, assuming you will live in residence?

college-woot is right to say that there are quite a few scholarships and awards offered. unfortunately at the frosh stage, it seems there are only admission entrance scholarships. also, many other awards are available only for ontario residents and not for internationals, or are only applicable in the later college years. if i recall correctly, the u of t policy says something about no student having to miss attending u of t because of finances.. i'm sure if you contact the admissions office directly, they will be able to help you resolve your problem in some way.

hope you found this helpful.
