Try looking for schools that are need blind for internationals like Williams. Needing a lot of FA will hurt you at most schools, so you should apply to some where it doesn't matter.

First, Get a better understanding of your financial situation. Ask your parent to try using an online calculator to deterimine the amount of need based aid your family would be eligible for. Some colleges are generous to internationals, some are not.

Secondly what country are you from? What's your ethnic, racial, religious class? If you think this is too nosy, think again. Why do you think American universities and colleges are so eager to admit international students when their acceptance rates are already in the single digits? The answer is diversity -- what can your personal life experience bring to the campus community?

Third, you're obviously a smart kid. Get a book on college admissions. Streamline your resume. Learn what they're looking for and capitalize on it. Bumping up the same list of accomplishments isn't going to do the trick.

Fourth, Do you attend an international school? Have others from your school been accepted at American universities? Don't try to successful students from your school do to get accepted?

I am an American who lives in a third world country. I LOVE to see kids from my host country succeed in their quest for an American education. I think the first problem is that they don't know where to begin. This board is a good start. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Dude post at the international forum it is way more helpful. I'd recommend Trinity University, which gave me financial aid as an international student.
