Searching for good history programs

Hello, I'm currently a college freshman and seeing as how I've had second thoughts about the university I'm attending now, I'm thinking of transferring next year.

But I need some help. I'm thinking of majoring in history, so I've been looking for a school that has a good history program. What I'm also really looking for is a school on the east coast (but no further south than Virginia). I'm currently attending a university in Washington state, so I'm also considering schools here in Washington or Oregon. I'm also interested in colleges out of the country in the UK. I just don't know where to look really.

Does anyone know of schools on the east coast, in the pacific northwest, or in the UK that have good history programs?

UChicago, Reed, any of the little 3, any of the Ivys, nearly every top LAC. Most good non-technical schools have good history programs. Unless you want a specific area, almost any good school is a good choice.

Look in Ruggs.

Pretty much every school has a good history program. Look at the schools that best fit your preferences; chances are they'll all have fine history programs.

That said, stand-out programs on the east coast would include the Ivies, NYU, Rochester, Brandeis, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown. I don't know about the Pacific Northwest.
