Searching for Urban Colleges

Hey everybody as a rising Junior I've recently started my search for colleges and would like some assistance in finding some that would best match my desires.

I'm interested in studying Finance and am specifically searching for colleges located at an urban setting (guess I'm not really into nature) . One of my first prospectives was NYU, and as I was in NYC this past month I decided to take a tour. I was impressed, but was not completely sold considering the MONSTER price tag the university caries. Besides just mainly having a preference for the urban scene, I'm attracted to the aspect of the amount of internships that will be available to me in my years of study. Another aspect that plays into my college search is study abroad, at this point that seems like something I'd be very interested in pursuing (specifically a program in China or Hong Kong).

Some other schools that have caught my attention are the University of Chicago, Loyola University, and DePaul University.

So guess that about sums it up, any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: Currently I have a 3.72 gpa (on 4.0 unweighted scale), and scored a 28 on my ACT in June (which I'm of course hoping will rise this upcoming year.

if the stats rise I would give columbia a shout, there’s a new financial econ major this year, as well as tons of finance related classes on offer.

Columbia
NYU
Fordham
BC
Northeastern
Villanova

George Washington University - very urban!

Pittsburgh

UCLA and USC

There are several. Given that you listed it after the University of Chicago, I assume you mean the one in Chicago?

@BillyMc Ahh yes I was referring to the one in Chicago, guess I didn’t realize there were others.

And thanks for all the replies everyone else, I’ll be sure to look into all of those.

Boston University - very urban

Check out Philadelphia - lots of colleges there - Temple, Drexel, Saint Joseph’s U, to name a few.

University of Southern California. Your current qualifications make it a bit of a reach, but a slightly higher ACT would put you in contention. Good luck!

U of Penn too, if you can get in. Note that Villanova itself is not at all urban (from what I can see, that is all that is there) but it is not far from Philly. Baruch College in NYC. I don’t know what score on the ACT would be required but you might want to check out the CUNY Honors program. Your GPA qualifies. I know for SATs they require 1300. Phenomenal deal: free tuition, $7500 stipend for internships or travel abroad, laptop and lots of internship connections. For Baruch, there is a dorm but it is not free. There are free dorms for Hunter (not sure why this is…). It has a good website.
