Urban Colleges

Hello everyone. I'm still searching for colleges to apply to and I was wondering if anyone could help me in my search. I'm looking for a few more colleges to add to my current list. I prefer a very urban area as I love big cities. I plan on majoring in Fine Arts (drawing). My GPA is 4.2 weighted (3.9 un-weighted) and my ACT is 23. I'm, retaking the ACT, so hopefully my scores will improve. Money is not an issue at the moment. I just want suggestions for now, no matter the tuition.

Here is my current list. Anyone care to suggest any more urban schools?

Temple University
NYU
Northeastern University
George Washington University
Columbia College Chicago
Pratt Institute

I also wanted to apply to University of the Arts, but I heard it's a dry campus. Has anyone had any experience with this? Should I just apply and move off-campus if I don't like it?

Also, please don't suggest the New School or anywhere else in NYC that doesn't guarantee housing. I can't live off-campus in NYC.

Thanks!

Here’s some:

DePaul (Chicago - Lincoln Park or Loop)
Tulane (New Orleans)
Loyola (New Orleans or Chicago)

Duquesne (Pittsburgh)
U Washington (Seattle)

Does this mean your parents are willing to pay anything or you just don’t care? It seems like the latter.

Viyushi, go to the forum you want to post in. Right about the list of threads, on the left side, is a button “New Thread.” Just click that and go.

Erin’s Dad.

No, it doesn’t mean that I don’t care about my parents financial situation. I actually don’t expect my parents to pay anything! I just don’t want anyone on this website to determine what is within my own budget for me. I’m smart enough to do that myself.

Only suggestions please, as I said.

Thank you.

Thank you for this list! I’m sorry that I forgot to say that I prefer colleges with no religious affiliation.

also VCU. Best of luck!

Your GPA is 3.9/4.2 and your ACT is 23, is that correct? Have you taken the SAT? If the test scores are correct, you might also want to look at test optional colleges where your GPA will be given greater weight. [The National Center for Fair & Open Testing | FairTest](http://www.fairtest.org) will provide a list of test optional colleges. Good luck
