Second best campus?

Hey, I was just wondering, besides University Park, what is the second most prestigious campus of Penn State for general undergraduate studies? And lets say you graduate from penn, will the campus that you attended be on your diploma? I.e., would it say " MBA from Pennsylvania State University at University Park," or whatever campus you went to? One more thing, is it any easier to transfer to penn state main campus from a satellite penn state campus, like Wilkes-Barre, instead of from another university altogether--given that the status are the same?

Thanks.

I don't really know which is the second best campus. But no, the campus does not appear on your diploma. Secondly, you shouldn't call PSU "Penn" simply because "Penn" is a reference to the University of Pennsylvania.

I agree z5sharp.

can anyone else comment?

I hear Altoona is a good campus - it's also close to UP (for football games and such). Most kids who graduate from main would put Univ Park or Main Campus on thier resume. But lots of kids start out at satellite campuses and then graduate from main - no big deal. Yes, I believe it's easier to transfer to the main PSU campus from a satellite (vs. another university).

It's probably easier to transfer to the University Park (main) campus from another PSU branch campus in that you won't lose any credits, as you might if you transfer from another institution. If you start out at a branch campus, Penn State generally requires that you go there for 2 years (~60 credits) before you can transfer to main campus. A few of the branch campuses (Altoona, Behrend) offer limited Bachelor's degree programs, which do not require transfer to main campus. However, most of the students at branch campuses transfer to main after 2 years to finish their degrees. I imagine your diploma will say only the campus you graduated from -- If you graduate from main campus, it will say "University Park". If you graduate from another campus, it will probably have the name of that campus on it.

I've heard good things about Altoona and the Behrend (Erie) campus.

@udbluehen no it will not have the name of the campus, not even for UP.

First of all this thread is 10 years old.

Secondly that’s not always true. I’ve seen pictures of diplomas from Erie that have “The Behrend College” on them.

Talking about resurrecting an old thread.
