Second Semester Senior

Hi everyone!

This is my last semester of college. I’m having a tough time getting through because I’m so sick of it and already have a job offer at a company I’m currently interning at that I absolutely adore. I’m so frustrated with my school and so ready to get out of there!

To make my last semester a little more enjoyable, does anyone have any ideas for any projects/experiences I should pursue before graduation? Something sentimental or memorable, perhaps? For example, every day this semester I’ve been writing down one thing that made me happy so I’ll have a compilation by the end of the semester to look back on. I’m just looking for some fun creative things to keep myself occupied while I get through this last semester and hoping someone has some ideas!

Put your best effort till the very end and take time out to spend quality time with friends and enjoying the college lifestyle. Once you start working after graduation life is going to change and it might be quite a transition period. Keep in mind at work there maybe times when you are not motivated but you are still expected to perform and get the job done.

Look forward to graduation and how you will celebrate with your friends. If there is a gap of time between end of school and when you start work plan a vacation or some fun times to get refreshed and ready for work.

Usually there are graduation events and celebrations that last semester so take part in them. Cherish this last semester of college because you will miss your college days once you get into the workforce and dealing with life issues. (commuting, working, paying bills, relationships with coworkers, less vacation time)

If you school has a lot of traditions, make a checklist for yourself and spend your last year doing any you haven’t already done. They could make for lasting memories.

Congrats on the job! There’s a video app called “a second a day” where you record (wait for it!) a second each day and then it compiles a video at the end of the year. Might be fun to start it now and see where it takes you through the transition.

Is there a bucketlist of on campus activities? Do them!

Sounds to me like you’re doing everything right. It’s normal to be fed up. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel very clearly. Great job! I love that you are listing things that make you happy. One thing I did was thought of how I was going to reward myself once I had my degree. Perhaps plan your first weekend getaway with friends, or the first piece of furniture you’d like to get for yourself. My reward was to travel, which I did. Maybe you an some friends or family could also plan a special event/vacation/picnic, etc…as a way to cleee rate graduation before you start your job.

Another idea, which might be corny, but consider planting a tree. If you will be returning to your college town often, or your hometown, or maybe you want to put roots down literally and figuratively in your new city, you can go to the local parks and rec office and ask if you can plant a tree. Then you can watch it grow and change over the years. (I just made this up, btw. Lol.)

Thanks everyone! These are awesome ideas!!
