Second Thoughts About My Dorm

<p>Hello, everybody!</p>

<p>So, I'm starting university in the fall, and I've already signed up for a dorm. The problem is, I've been having second thoughts about it. It seems like the least-wanted dorm on campus. Plus, I got to tour the dorm over Spring Break, and frankly, it looks incredibly boring. Some of the other dorms have more spacious rooms and just look nicer and more exciting, since more students will be living there.</p>

<p>Pretty much the only reason I chose my current dorm over the others was because it's one of the cheapest. I still don't know how much I'll be getting in financial aid (but hopefully I'll find out next month). I also had outpatient surgery earlier this year so there might be hospital bills I'll have to help pay on top of tuition and other school expenses. </p>

<p>However, I'm still considering switching over to one of the other dorms. I've been hoping for an exciting dorm life for years. I'm not saying it has to be full of party animals, but it has to at least have a few things going for it (the dorm I'm currently signed up for is the only one to have a piano in the lounge area - that's about all it has going for it)...</p>

<p>School is what you make of it. Don’t go in expecting to hate your dorm, it’ll become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Yes, a dorm with smaller rooms is going to be cheaper than one with larger rooms… what’d you expect?</p>

<p>As for how social your floor will be, quite frankly, you can’t judge that, not based on this year. How can you stereotype a dorm when practically every single student living there will be new next year?</p>

<p>That said, we can’t decide for you. You’ll have to decide whether or not you can be happy in that dorm, and if the price is worth it. Good luck with whatever you choose!</p>
