on the common app, do we really need to go back to our high school counselor and have them fill out the secondary school report? the reason i ask is because the form asks the counselor to basically write a letter of recommendation. I'm thinking it might just be okay to submit the high school transcript because that's what they're after anyways right? I wouldn't expect my high school counselor to even remember me...

I'm applying to Cornell, NYU, and Stanford via the common app. 2nd year at a college.

For the other schools, go to the college websites, if they say to send the SSR form, that’s what they want you to do, and you run the risk of having an incomplete application if you don’t comply. If in doubt, give the school a call.

You should call the school to double check. I was just going to send my high school grades but when I called the school I am applying to (Brown) about the counselor recommendation, they said that was the most important part of the form. They also said if my counselor was no longer there then it had to be completed by some other school official who could write one.
