Secrets of MHC

Let's discuss on more about MHC. Some kind of revealing the secrets or unveiling the mystries. Maybe just plunging deep into the policies!!!

Well, it's not a secret, but we do have an honor code. We honor each other, and faculty are supposed to honor us. It's a "we believe you if you claim so" rule, with not-so-good repercussions if you lie, of course :)

that sounds great!

there are tons of scary ghost stories which are fun sometimes, but sometimes just freaky

what are they, actually???

heres a link on the mtholyoke website with a bunch of stories
dont let it scare you away though
theyre not taken seriously at all really
we did have a "seance" earlier in the year as a joke which was really fun :)

http://www.mtholyoke.edu/lits/library/arch/ref/ghost/

pretty scary, do ghosts still haunt the residence halls?

i have heard about like Hannah's potrait, mary lyon's tombstone and Wilder 305? can't remember clearly
ha, it's common to have ghosts in such an old school with so long a history~

A tree fell on Wilder last year, on the ghost room... not to frighten you. It's the room nobody uses, because it's "haunted".

that sounds good. i like ghost stroy although i dont like ghost....

haha very interesting! any other rumors or secrets in other aspects?!

Rumor is: If you walk across the 1837/Delles bridge at midnight, you can hear the voice of a girl yelling, "Saaave meee..." or something.

Used to be that male professors would meet in the basement of the College Inn--to "bond" with each other and get away from all the women once in a while--group was called "The Merry Lions".

Don't know if that still exists--I'm talking 60 s and 70s.

my aunt (class of '71) told me that the professors all had a "thank God they're gone party" when all the students left. i thought that was pretty funny

Jane26...actually that included all the parents of the students as well!!! ;)

(kidding, just kidding)

Wow reading all those stories was a great way to procrastinate studying for the SAT's. Thanks!

Almost every story seems to have a reasonable explanation but still, they're pretty eerie.
