Seeking experience with successful transfer

Rather than hi-jacking another thread...I would also like to know about transferring to UNC on behalf of my sister's D--OOS, undecided major. Niece applied EA, was deferred to RD and was ultimately rejected. Her GC was told her SAT was slightly lower than they would have liked; mother wondered if she was penalized because her school offers limited number of AP classes; she took only one. Believe her SAT was about 1350 (2130) and 31 ACT; top 5% in a rigorous h.s. course load. Outstanding leadership skills; 3 sport letterman;

Had a 4.0 gpa at a very well-respected LAC first semester while pursuing her best sport at the college level. She is considering transferring to UNC next year as a sophomore. If UNC was hesitant because they were unsure if she was capable of success at UNC, seems she has answered that question by doing so well at another challenging school. Any words of wisdom?

Competition for OOS is so tough for entering freshman, but I do know that one of my daughter's friends was able to transfer in from OOS after completing freshman year at his second choice school. It is certainly worth a try!! Good luck!

It's definately easier to transfer OOS sophomore year than getting in freshman year. My cousin did it from MA.
