Seems that colleges are enrolling more Black Immigrants than Black Americans

i'm just a realist....i see what is around me, i accept it and i move on.... i won't be in denial if that is what you want me to be..i cosign kenshinsan's last post... that sums up where i stand

My conclusion from reading all these posts:

Been prejudiced or developing a haughty persona when viewing a different race isn't an innate trait, it is derived through influence whether it be our parents or the media.

ON ANOTHER TOPIC:

whatisinaname, how is Cornell? I plan on applying as a transfer for sophomore standing after this upcoming school year. I applied as an incoming freshman but wasn't accepted. However, I think I'll have a better shot next time around. I've gotten numerous scholarships and awards after the college admissions process, I've been more involved in volunteerism and I'm contemplating traveling to a country in Africa to volunteer(I know I should be doing it in the spirit of goodwill and shouldn't be expecting anything back and I feel guilty about that but let's be honest, it'll probably boost my chances), money shouldn't be a problem because I was selected as a Gates Millennium Scholar(the program pretty much pays for everything and even gives stipends), I plan on joining numerous clubs in my freshman year that shows my passion, I've also started my essays, even if it's a little too early, and IMO, it reveals my passion for finance. Don't know if it'll boost my chances, but I also run a virtual mutual fund that's been doing pretty well. I see you're an Econ double major, is that part of the AEM program or in another school entirely? What advise do you have going into freshman year and the transfer process?

BTW, I graduated high school at 16 and would be 17 in college as a freshman. Does that help at all?
