Hi all,
NOTE: I AM AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT.
My English Proficiency Requirement has been waived
I received my Boston College Application Portal for Regular Decision today.
I noticed it had listed my Writing Supplement and SAT I as having not been received. I assumed it was still being processed and waited a bit. The writing supplement was marked received, but the SAT (Self reported on my Common App) has still not been “received”.
I am once again assuming it is still being ‘processed’, but after some searching on Boston College’s website, it may seem that I need to submit my Official SAT through an Official SAT Score-Send. Is this correct or do I just need to wait for further processing (its been 72 hours since my submission)?
Usually, processing for self-reported SAT scores from the common app are already labeled as received whenever I get an application portal (from my experience with applying to other colleges), so that is why I find this weird and wanted to ask if I need to submit my Official SAT through an Official SAT Score-Send.
Many colleges do not accept self-reported scores. They require an official report prior to admission, as has been the case for decades for all colleges up until recently.

Check the application instructions on each of your colleges’ websites.
Agree with the above…BC needs official score reports. You should send the official SAT report today and pay the extra $ to rush it, if you can afford to.

Am I going to be denied admission since I’m doing a score-report now?! I mean, I just received my application portal today…
Regardless, I will only be able to send the score in about 6 hours since I’m not at home, but as long as I send the score-report before the day ends in EST that’s what matters, right?
Also, whether it takes 3 business days with rush or 10 business days as regular won’t matter right because “They require an official report prior to admission (which is like in Feb/March I believe which is far off)” and I’m sure it takes a couple of weeks or so to organize all the RD applications…
The statement still stands that I need to send an official score, but I don’t need to panic about not getting admitted now because it’s not been sent, right?
ALSO: Should I let the Boston College Admissions know that it may take some time for my official SAT to come their way or is that unnecessary?
You did not have to wait to send your official scores until you gained access to your portal. You could have sent your scores before you even sent in your application.
I can’t answer the question if late score reports will be allowed by BC, but many schools do allow it, while some don’t. The only way to know for sure is to contact your AO…but meanwhile send that rushed score today.
