I am currently a HS Junior and am taking AP Physics 1 and AP Calculus BC. I have a thorough understanding of basic differentiation (Chain Rule, Product, Quotient, etc.) However, my Physics teacher advised me to take Physics 1 first since I have never taken a Physics class prior to this year. I just feel that I am capable enough to take AP Physics C, but not with this teacher. We have finished covering Vectors and are doing a Force Table lab soon. Are there any books you recommend I get? Also, I am afraid of taking Electricity and Magnetism, as AP Physics I only goes over basic RC Circuits and Electrostatics.

If you understand the calc, you can do mech. I took it last year with only a one semester honors physics course that only covered mech and a bit of electricity, and I got a 5. I think you could give e&m a try, since you’ve got the whole school year to study. To study for mech, I used pr and did old free response questions, and I think a similar approach would work for e&m.
