hey guys, i am a junior right now taking a an easy courseload compared to my freinds, like im really not busting my ass, i really regret not taking harder classes i am only in one AP- WH, and honors everything else,
if i started next week do you think it would be possible for me to self study these two exams?
i am usually a good test taker and good memorizer, but is it feasible?
i have all As
my goal would be to get a 5, or do you think i should focus on getting A+ and doing some volunteering? or both ?

AP Psych is very easy to self-study (and is interesting). I read through Barron’s 2-3 times a week or two before the exam and watched some online videos, and I breezed through the test with a 5. From what I’ve heard, AP HuG is even easier, but I haven’t personally taken the exam.

If you’re taking an easier course load like you said, then maybe some self-studies under your belt will help. Then again, EC’s are also extremely important, especially for top schools. You may also want to check if the colleges you want to go to offer credit for these exams; from what I know, most colleges don’t. If I were you, I would only self-study if I could keep my grades up (which you seem to be able to do with little effort) and continue commitment to EC’s/volunteering. I would also try taking a more difficult course load senior year. Good luck!

I’d say continue volunteering, that looks very good to colleges and is extremely important. Also from what I’ve heard, AP Pysch and AP Human Geography are easy to self study as long as you are wiling to focus and put in the effort. I’m going to self study these AP classes and take them as a sophomore. Also if you haven’t made your schedule for senior year yet, I highly recommend adding more AP classes to it. This is another incentive to set yourself apart from average people if you’re able to score highly on the exams. Best of luck!
