I've been wanting to take AP psych for a really long time. My h.s. doesn't offer that course, but I still want to take the exam at the end of my 07- 08 junior year. So I was thinking about Online courses, and at my school we have VHS (virtual h.s.) which is counted in our transcript GPA etc. I e-mailed my counselor and he said it's possible, but he wouldn't recommend it because i'm "busy" this year. So i just wanted to hear opinions as to how I should approach this particular AP. I mean could self- study also be possible? To help you, my courseload is:

Chinese1
APUSH
Spanish2
Precalc Lim H
AP eng
French 4 H
Physics H

You have a challenging schedule, but self-studying psychology is definately possible. I wouldn't even burden yourself with the course through that correspondence thing. I can't speak for all kinds of correspondence courses, but my one and only experience with it was awful. Completely painful and a major time sink. I would reccomend you just start picking up on the AP psych books at your own leisure. If there's any AP you could self-study easily, this would be it.

Plus if you do poorly on the exam, then you won't have to report it to colleges since you never took the class. I'd say just buy a couple of AP prep books and study throughout a 2 - 3 month course.

hmm thanks guys, i think i will self study it.

and to aa6590: chinese 1 b/c i wanted to triple languages, but the other languages in my school were a joke, plus i've always wanted to learn chinese. :D
