well i really dont know much about this exam other than the fact that its mostly java... butttttt

so im wondering how hard this would be

yes i know its relative and all, but lets see im a strong math/science person, im going to take the B.C. calc exam this year, would this make the test go more towards my way?

also im very familiar with computer hardware (i build comps) and can do basic javascript for my web page

how much more would i have to learn to get a 5 on this exam (is all my knowledge irrelevant), and is the "Be Prepared for the AP Computer Science Exam in Java" the book i should be looking at for this

sorry if this seems abrupt but my friend is the only one at our school that is going to take it and has almost succeeded in persuading me to take it with him.

im willing to get whatever books you guys recommend for the ab test (you ppl seem to know what you are talking about lol), but i really do want to get a 5 on it if i take it :D

After programming for a while, I've come to the enlightenment that a lot of computer science is the logic, not the language. The purpose of the AB exam is to test you on the different logic techniques programmers use solve real world problems (like sorting for example).

So if your good at understanding the logic behind the code then the only trouble will be learning the syntax.

This site is amazing for Java. Java Programming. Some of the topics are bit too advanced for Comp AB, but lots of it are relevant.

As for books, I used barrons and got a 5, but I only used it for the practice problems. Don't forget to look over some Aquarium program collegeboard gives you, every test has a few questions devoted to it.

If you still need extra practice, search google for edu sites of Java or try searching here Learn Within - Search
