Self-Study for AP CS A with Codeacademy?

First off, I have no programming experience except for just a few chapters of reading Java for Dummies, which wasn't helpful... But now I just started fiercely self studying, and the Barrons is not making any sense at all. So I decided to start Codeacademy, coding Javascript (21% finished) and everything makes sense now. Is it possible to self study for AP CS by learning 2-3 languages in Codeacademy, and then using the Barrons?

bump

I hope you are aware that Javascript and Java are not the same thing.

I’m curious about the same thing. I’ve used Codeacademy before (I tried to learn some coding on my own to qualify myself more for an internship I applied to), and I found it to be very helpful! The only thing that was tough was that I wasn’t sure how to do more practice. Sorry, I’m not sure about the AP CS test (my school doesn’t offer it, although I’m planning to enroll in a programming class next year that will hopefully be pretty similar), but I’d be interested to see what other people think!

You cannot learn JAVA through Codeacademy simply because it doesn’t offer it
Javascript is completely different and Id suggest that you get a good JAVA study Guide and learn through that

Nicely done abhishekagarwal.
No but seriously, if you think that you can go on Code Academy and do all the languages and pass the AP Exam you are far from close.
The AP Exams tests Java! Thats what it its sometimes called AP Java.
So learn Java, pick up decent guide, prbly some online or get a prep book and start memorizing stuff.
