Self-Study for AP Stat/Hum. Geo.

I'm a Junior who took five APs in the liberal arts (four of them without really studying since history and politics are serious interests of mine) and got 5s on all of them, and I'm taking three AP classes this year. I should be able to get a 5 on AP USH and at least a 4 on AP Language. However, I'm trying to to get the National AP Scholar award by next September/October so I can put it on my college apps. I'm not really good in AP Bio and I don't know how I'll do on the actual AP exam (not sure if I should even take the test.) That leaves me at 7 of the 8 AP exams needed to have the National AP Scholar award.

So, my question is this: how easy is it to self-study for the AP Human Geography Exam with, say for instance, the Barrons book and get a 4 or a 5? Likewise, I'm taking an ordinary statistics class (using a college textbook, however), and I'm killing it (even though I'm not a math person in the slightest), but it's going really slow. How difficult would it be for me to get the Barrons (?) review book for AP Stats and self-study what my class doesn't go over?

Thanks, and I apologize for the long-winded post.

Although, I haven't self-studied AP Human Geography, I think that if you get Barrons you'll do fine, its one of the BS AP's. You can probably do well on AP Stat too. The effort put into studying usually equals the grade/score. Good Luck :)

This thread is old, but I'll point out two things about AP Human...

1.) It's really easy; basically, a lot of common sense general Social Studies material that has been covered on and off since anyone was in elementary school.

2.) It's widely known that the Barron's book had several questions/diagrams/free responses that were on the test. Some word for word. If you read the Barron's thoroughly, take the practice tests, then you'd get a 4 guaranteed.

AP Stats is an easy 4. Read the entire Barrons book for it and a 5 would be in range. Self-studying is a good option if you can pick up concepts fast. AP Stats has only a few ideas once you reach the end of the curriculum, and each topic seems to link to the previous.

I found CliffsAP Stat the most helpful. For Stat, the MC is a joke and the free response is hardly possible, so make sure to ace the MC practice. (CLiffs has 8 tests)
