Self-study Physics B?

I am thinking about self-studying for the AP Physics B exam because my school does not offer any AP sciences. I'm currently in Honors Physics, but I believe that we do not go over as much material that is covered in the AP.

Will it be a good idea to self-study for it or will it be ungodly hard if I didn't take the class?

Also, will selective colleges look upon a poor self-study AP score very negatively?

Don't do it.

So I take it that the exam is very hard?

yeah i was wondering about this too.

Actually the AP Physics exams aren't really that hard at all if you're good at science. I don't know what your school teaches in Honors Physics, so I don't know how much you're learning. You could try to find a list of topics covered in AP Physics B and study the ones you haven't learned on your own, or you could buy a prep book for Physics B and study that. Obviously just buying the prep book alone probably isn't enough to learn Physics on your own, but since you're in Honors Physics you might be okay. If you're doing well in Honors Physics and you like science, I'd say go for it and study on your own.

However, I can't say whether or not colleges will look at a bad score on an AP exam that you've self-studied for negatively, because I'm not a college rep.

I'm with glucose101...don't do it...honros and AP Physics is very different nad more difficult

I don't think it's a smart idea, especially if you're just thinking about randomly going in and taking it (so close to the test date that it seems like that).
